The world’s oldest Catholic priest, Father Bruno Kant, has passed away at the remarkable age of 110 in Germany. The Diocese of Fulda announced that the beloved priest passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of faith that spanned across multiple generations.Born near Danzig, Father Kant’s journey to the priesthood was marked by immense suffering. During his theological studies, the Nazi regime conscripted him into forced military service. He then spent four grueling years as a prisoner of war in Russia. Returning to his family in 1948, he immediately resumed his studies and was ordained in 1950 for the Diocese of Fulda.

May the soul of Father Bruno Kant and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace Amen
