The Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Chief Hon. Christopher Agbeh, has announced the LGC plans to rehabilitate the failed Ribikem Bridge in Ogberia Ogang Community, Mbube East Ward 1, following government approval for the project.


Speaking during an inspection visit to the bridge site alongside engineers from the Council’s Works Department, Agbeh said the intervention became necessary due to the bridge’s strategic economic importance to the area. He assured residents that work would commence soon and appealed for their cooperation to ensure a smooth execution of the project.
Responding on behalf of the community, Chairman of Ogberia Ogang Community, Mr. Sunday Odey, commended the Council Chairman’s proactive leadership, describing him as a “talk-and-do” leader. He pledged the community’s full support for the successful completion of the project.
Also speaking, the Village Head, Chief Francis Eshua Akan, said the rehabilitation of the bridge would bring lasting relief to residents, noting that the Agbeh administration was making history by addressing a long-standing challenge facing the community.
The inspection team included Hon. Clement Oti, Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Godwin Odey, Ward Relations Officer, Engr. Raymond Ebim, Director of Works; Engr. Joseph Achuta, Deputy Director of Works, and other community leaders and stakeholders.
