The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., has congratulated the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, on his renomination as the running mate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Senator Odey delivered his congratulatory message on Sunday July 12, 2026, at Aguda House, Presidential Villa, Aso Rock Abuja, describing the Vice President’s renomination as a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional leadership, unwavering loyalty, sterling character, and invaluable contributions to the success of the Tinubu administration.
According to the Education Commissioner, the President’s decision to retain Senator Shettima is more than a political choice; it is a recognition of his quiet competence, intellectual rigour, humility, and steadfast commitment to national development
Professor Odey further commended the Vice President for his role in the nation’s transformation over the past three years, stating that he has consistently demonstrated that true leadership is anchored on service, substance, and national progress rather than personal acclaim.
Senator Odey urged the Vice President to remain steadfast and focused as he prepares for another term, while offering prayers for wisdom, strength, good health, and greater success in the service of the nation.
