The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Sen. Prof. Stephen Odey, Esq., on Saturday met with key political stakeholders of Yache Nation, where he commended their steadfast dedication to unity, peace, and collective progress.
Addressing the gathering in his capacity as the Political Leader of Yache Nation and Oyorgu I of Yache, Senator Odey charged stakeholders in Okuku to remain resolute in sustaining the prevailing harmony within the community. He emphasized that peace, unity, and shared commitment constitute the bedrock for accelerated development and meaningful socio-political advancement. In further demonstration of his support, he made a donation of ₦2 million to facilitate refreshments and transportation for participants.
Professor Odey also highlighted the significant strides recorded under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Bassey Otu, reaffirming the administration’s unwavering commitment to impactful governance and grassroots development across the State.
In a show of solidarity, the meeting attracted goodwill visits and contributions from prominent leaders. The Member representing Yala I State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Odey Brian, visited and made a donation of ₦500,000, in addition to presenting a live cow in support of the stakeholders’ engagement.
Similarly, Hon. Dr. Odey Christopher Ogar visited and expressed appreciation to the leadership and people of Yache Nation, and made a donation of ₦1 million in support of the gathering. Both visiting leaders commended Senator Odey’s exemplary leadership, noting that the level of unity and peace currently enjoyed in Yache Nation is commendable and worthy of emulation by other communities.
The meeting concluded on a note of renewed commitment by stakeholders to sustain cooperation, deepen unity, and advance the collective interests of Yache Nation. In alignment with the political direction of the leadership, stakeholders affirmed their total support for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to ensure bloc votes for the APC.
