The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Sen. Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., has paid a working visit to the Department of Exams and Certificates as part of efforts to assess preparations for the forthcoming 2025/2026 Primary Six placements, Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and Senior Secondary II Mock Examination. The examinations are scheduled to commence on June 1, 2026, across the state.
During the visit, the Commissioner inspected ongoing processes and logistics put in place to ensure a smooth and credible conduct of the examinations. He was received by the Director of Exams and Certificates, Mr. Asoquo Amaku, alongside staff of the department.
Speaking after a thorough assessment, Professor Odey expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness and the systems put in place by the department. He commended the staff for their diligence, professionalism, and commitment to duty.
The Commissioner, however, urged the department to sustain and further improve on their efforts to guarantee a hitch-free examination process, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards, credibility, and integrity in the conduct of all examinations in the state.
The visit underscores the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring quality assurance and effective service delivery in the education sector, particularly in the administration of public examinations.
