The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, appeared before the Cross River State House of Assembly to present the Ministry of Education’s 2026 Mid-Year Budget Performance Report.
The Commissioner was received by the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriations, Hon. Cyril James Omini, alongside members of the committee. In a demonstration of respect and collegiality, the lawmakers promptly ushered Senator Odey into the presentation session, acknowledging his distinguished services.
The budget presentation provided an opportunity for the Ministry to account for its financial performance and the implementation of education programmes during the first half of the 2026 fiscal year, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery in the education sector.
