The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., on Wednesday joined his counterparts—Commissioners for Education across Nigeria, Executive Chairmen of State Universal Basic Education Boards, State Statisticians-General and other education stakeholders at the official unveiling of the Digitalised National Education Management Information System (DNEMIS) and the inauguration of State DNEMIS Coordination Teams. The event took place at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel.
In attendance were the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad. The event emphasized that DNEMIS represents a major national education data reform initiative aimed at strengthening school-level data collection, improving data quality, supporting evidence-based planning, and enhancing accountability across the education sector in all states of the federation. The initiative is expected to significantly transform education data management and policy implementation nationwide.
