C’RIVER EDUCATION COMMISSIONER INSPECTS SCHOOLS, COMMENDS SMOOTH CONDUCT OF WAEC, MOCK AND BECE EXAMINATIONS

The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., on Wednesday embarked on an inspection visit to selected schools in Calabar to assess the ongoing conduct of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC), SS2 Mock Examination, and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). During the inspection tour, the Commissioner visited Government Secondary School, Akim; Christian High School; and Government Technical College, Calabar. He was accompanied by Directors from the Ministry of Education.

The visit aimed to ensure that examination processes were conducted in strict compliance with established guidelines, while also evaluating the level of preparedness, coordination, and supervision by school administrators. Expressing satisfaction with the orderly and hitch-free conduct of the examinations, Senator Odey commended the principals, teachers, and management teams of the schools for their dedication and professionalism in maintaining a conducive environment for students.

Professor Odey, particularly applauded the effective coordination of candidates and the high level of discipline observed throughout the examination process, noting that such commitment reflects the deliberate efforts of the Cross River State Government to enhance educational standards across the state.

The Commissioner further urged school administrators to sustain the momentum by upholding discipline, organization, and excellence, emphasizing that quality education remains a key priority of the Governor Bassey Otu led administration. The supervisory visit underscores the Ministry of Education’s unwavering commitment to ensuring credible examination processes and promoting academic excellence in schools across Cross River State.
