The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Sen. Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., has received His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ophot Agbor Ewa Ebani, Paramount Ruler of Akamkpa Local Government Area, on a courtesy visit to his office at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Calabar.
The visit featured the formal presentation of a book authored and launched by the royal father titled Computer Poem. According to His Royal Majesty, the book is aimed at promoting computer education among primary and secondary school students in Akamkpa LGA and across the State.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Odey warmly welcomed the Paramount Ruler and commended his unwavering commitment to advancing education. He expressed pride in individuals who dedicate their time to acquiring knowledge and contributing meaningfully to its growth, describing such efforts as essential to societal development.
The Commissioner further emphasized the importance of innovative educational resources like Computer Poem in enhancing teaching and learning, particularly in fostering digital literacy among young learners.
In a gesture of appreciation, Professor Odey presented his own publication titled Oil and Gas Pollution and Control Legislation in Nigeria to His Royal Majesty. He noted that the book represents his personal contribution to knowledge, shaped by his leadership experience and professional practice.
