Senator Stephen Odey, the Oyorgu 1 of Yache Nation, has demonstrated remarkable commitment to community development through his voluntary rehabilitation of the Akreha-Okpoku bridge over the past 8 years, with this ongoing initiative marking the sixth time he has leveraged his personal resources to fund the rehabilitation of the Akreha / Okpoku hanging bridge, ultimately enhancing the livelihoods of local residents, particularly during the harvest season when agricultural produce is transported to markets.
Taking into account the bridge’s critical connection to Benue State and its status as the shortest route to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the intervention by Associate Professor Odey will be the final one for the existing hanging bridge. The good people of Yache Nation highly commend His Excellency, Governor Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for the ongoing construction of the new Akreha / Okpoku bridge and the Yache Alifokpa road construction, which is expected to be completed soon and will put an end to the quagmire faced by the people.
