It has just been brought to my knowledge that there was a publication by one Mr. Fidelis Izor on Facebook and Yache Youth Forum (YYF) platform, in which he stated that I was insulted by distinguished senator Stephen Adi Odey during the recently held Yache sons and daughters’ interactive meeting in Calabar on 28th of June, 2025. I am not on the YYF WhatsApp platform any longer, neither do I have access to the facebook publication as a result of which I have not read the publication till date. However, the 2 issues that were brought to my knowledge in relation to the meeting are:

That the Distinguished Senator Odey insulted me in the meeting; and
That the Distinguished Senator Odey threatened to disband the Alifokpa Peoples Assembly.
With regards to these 2 issues, I wish to report as follows:
- That on no occasion during the meeting did the distinguished senator either verbally or through any written means insult me. There was clarification of issues from him and me on the YYF election but it did not degenerate to insult from anybody. The meeting ended peacefully with arrangement by Senator for a further meeting with himself, Augustine Idugeni and myself to close up on any loose ends. I departed the meeting in the glare of the participants after a warm handshake with the Senator.
- That there was no proclamation in the said meeting to disband Alifokpa people’s Assembly to attract the form of vituperation stated by Mr Fidelis Izor.
I wish to condemn in unequivocal terms this kind of reportage. It is untrue and highly provocative. The write-up was done without my knowledge and endorsement and I disapprove of it in strong term. If Fidelis loves me that much and wanted to fight my course (if any), I deserved to be informed and my approval obtained.
I have enjoyed very cordial relationship with all Yache sons and daughters and particularly Distinguished Senator Stephen Adi. I will resist any attempt by any person, including Mr. Fidelis Izor to use me as a bait for any personal benefit or conflict.
I wish to appeal to all Yache Sons and daughters to desist forthwith from fanning the embers of hate and divisiveness amongst us. It does not pay.
Mr. Fidelis Izor, Distinguished Senator Stephen Adi Odey deserves an apology from you for the wrong, provocative and malicious publication. I will expect you do just that.
Distinguished Senator remains our pillar of hope, light and development in Yache Nation and must be given his respect notwithstanding any differences we may have as human beings.
Long Live Yache Nation.
Mr. Obri, Francis Ogar.
