C’RIVER EDUCATION COMMISSIONER RECEIVES SUBEB EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, MANAGEMENT TEAM ON A COURTESY VISIT

Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Sen. Prof. Stephen Odey, Esq. on Tuesday received the Executive Chairman, Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB), Chief Magistrate (Mrs.) Fidelia Okpo Ene, and members of the Board’s management team on a courtesy visit. The visit provided an opportunity for the Executive Chairman of CR-SUBEB to brief the Commissioner on the areas requiring further intervention and improvement to strengthen the Board’s operations

Chief Magistrate Ene acknowledged the Commissioner’s leadership and support for the Board, expressing confidence that, with his continued guidance and the support of the state government, the concerns raised would be addressed.

Welcoming the delegation, Professor Odey expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that all concerns raised by the Board will be communicated to His Excellency the Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, whose administration, he said, has continued to invest significantly in the education sector. He further stressed the importance of sustained synergy between the Ministry and SUBEB, while commending the Board’s management for its efforts and initiative in engaging with the Ministry to advance basic education in the state.

The Permanent Secretary of CR-SUBEB, Dr. Mrs. Mary Theresa Ebe, thanked the Commissioner for his open-door policy and willingness to engage with the parastatals under his supervision, she also commended his commitment to ensuring the finalisation of outstanding issues affecting the Board, expressing optimism that the necessary approvals would be secured in due course through his engagement with the Governor.
