C’RIVER MINISTRY OF EDUCATION RELEASES 2025/2026 BASIC EDUCATION AND SS II MOCK EXAMINATION RESULTS

The Cross River State Ministry of Education has officially released the results of the 2025/2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and Senior Secondary School II (SS II) Mock Examination, recording an impressive performance across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

The results were presented to the Commissioner for Education, Sen. Prof. Stephen Odey, Esq., by the Director Education Resource Centre, Dr. Moses Agboreyo, and the Director of Examinations and Certificates, Mr. Asoquo Amaku.

The 2025/2026 BECE recorded a 90.5% percent pass rate, with 3.8% percent of candidates failing, while 5.7% percent of results were withheld for various reasons. The SS II Mock Examination also recorded an encouraging 86% percent pass rate, with 14% percent of candidates failing across public and private schools in the state.

While approving the release of the results, the Commissioner for Education commended the examination team for the improved examination process, particularly the introduction of enhanced checks in the compilation, verification and processing of candidates’ scores.

According to him, the improved results and transparent process reflect the Ministry’s ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the integrity, transparency and credibility of examinations in Cross River State.

Professor Odey warned that negligence, examination malpractice or any nonchalant attitude capable of undermining the integrity of the examination system would attract appropriate sanctions. He stressed that the future of Cross River students must be protected and their academic efforts given the credibility they deserve.
