Good afternoon dear sons and daughters of Yala, in response to the several calls, sms and chats from concerned citizens of Yala and Cross River State at large , about the planned relocation of the Okuku Campus of Unicross to the Southern senatorial District, I want to appeal to everyone to remain calm , peaceful and prayerful.
To the present Government of Cross River State, I want to appeal on behalf of our people that this plan , IF IT IS TRUE , will not be welcomed by our people who are yet to recover from the relocation of Radio Ugaga over two decades ago. I humbly call on the Government to immediately reconsider the decision and please make a categorical public statement to douse the tension that it is already generating online and offline.
It is and irony of history that the good people of Yala , whom , through my humble self at the forefront with the support of many other persons made huge sacrifices to bring this Government into power, were first negatively rewarded with the illegal removal of Prof Augustine Angba as Vice Chancellor of the same UNICROSS .
As if that is not enough, now is this rumored relocation of Okuku campus in addition to the many ignominious treatment meted to Yala LGA / Northern Cross River sons and daughters under the Governor Bassey Otu administration .
This design appears to be more than ordinary government policy but a calculated attempt at annihilating shining stars and crippling the social political ecosystem of our people and region. What an odd world!.
While we may not have the power now to do otherwise, we believe that our collective prayers and thoughts will ascend as a memorial before God and like other failed diabolical and pestilential policies of this Government, this too will fail , if not now surely by 29th of May next year when God through your support gives my Boss, Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong and I the mantle of leadership to pilot the affairs of Cross River State.
All I can say in the interim to our people is simple, please remain calm and peaceful because any evil or injustice done will surely be redressed if not now , surely in the future because the triumph of evil over good is ephemeral.
Be rest assured that we shall come out when the come , comes to become.
