As we commemorate Democracy Day, I extend my warmest greetings to the Government and people of Cross River State, particularly our dedicated teachers, students, parents, and stakeholders in the education sector.
Democracy remains the bedrock of national development, fostering freedom, justice, unity, and the active participation of citizens in governance. Today, we celebrate the resilience of our democratic institutions and honour the sacrifices of those who fought to secure the democratic freedoms we enjoy.
Education is a vital pillar of democracy. An enlightened and informed citizenry is essential for sustaining democratic values, promoting social harmony, and driving sustainable development. It is for this reason that the Cross River State Ministry of Education remains committed to providing quality, accessible, and inclusive education for every child across the state.
As we reflect on our democratic journey, let us renew our commitment to peace, tolerance, patriotism, and collective responsibility. Together, we can continue to build a society where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to the progress of our state and nation.
I commend the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for his unwavering commitment to transforming the education sector and improving the lives of Cross Riverians through people-oriented policies and programs.
On this special occasion of Democracy Day, I encourage all citizens to remain steadfast in supporting democratic ideals and to work together for a brighter, more prosperous future.
