Senator Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., Commissioner for Education, Cross River State, on Sunday, April 26, 2026 extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of late Dr. Ignatius Ogabor Okplewu of Alifokpa Yache.
During the condolence visit, Professor Odey—who was away on a national assignment in Abuja—was ably represented by Hon. Idiku David, former Secretary of Council, Yala LGA, alongside members of his political family.
Delivering the message, Hon. Idiku encouraged the bereaved family to take solace in the enduring legacy of the late Dr. Okplewu, noting that his good deeds will remain indelible in the sands of time. He urged them to be comforted by the belief that their departed father has gone to rest with his Creator.
On behalf of Senator Odey, Hon. Idiku presented a live cow and a cash donation to support the family during this period of mourning.
Responding on behalf of the family, Mr. Victor Okplewu expressed deep appreciation for the visit, thanking Senator Odey and his delegation for the support and solidarity.
