YACHE, GABU AND YALA STAKEHOLDERS IN PORT HARCOURT PAY COURTESY VISIT TO SEN. PROFESSOR STEPHEN ODEY

Sen. Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., Commissioner for Education, Cross River State, on Sunday received a courtesy visit from Yache, Gabu and Yala community stakeholders resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, at his Calabar residence. The delegation, led by Engineer Abini F. John, formally invite Professor Odey to Port Harcourt, where they plan to host him for an interactive engagement scheduled for March 2026.

The visit also provided an avenue for family discussions and a detailed engagement on the development strides recorded in Yache and Yala under the leadership of Senator Odey. The delegation expressed their appreciation for his impactful leadership and noted that the visit offered an opportunity for the Port Harcourt community to further identify with the positive developments in Yache, Gabu, Yala, and Cross River North at large.

In his response, Senator Prof. Stephen Odey thanked the delegation for the recognition of his contributions to the advancement and well-being of his people. He reassured them of his continued commitment to development, stressing that sustained progress is anchored on unity and collective purpose as he further emphasized the power of togetherness and urged the delegation to continue encouraging unity among their people.

Members of the Port Harcourt delegation included Engineer Abini F. John, Mrs. Rosemary Cubberley (Madam Agbo Izor), Inspector Ohobu Christopher, and Mr. Sunday Akobor. The Uyo delegation comprised Chief Peter Ogwoni, Dr. Mcvin Ugor, Mr. Mike Ejah, and Mr Lugard Ogbaji, among others.
Also present from Calabar were His Youthfulness, Comrade Frank Alim Okpe, President General of the Yache Youth Forum; Dr. Eric Ogri of the Department of Public Relations, University of Calabar; Mr. Dominic Ogri; Comrade Joseph Okaku; and Surveyor Ugor Daniel.
