Patrick Viera hired by Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF).

The French-Senegalese reportedly wants his own staff, tighter control over the team’s environment and could change the captain. Malick Daff is being considered as his assistant. Logistically, Vieira would reportedly be provided with a villa in Saly, a company car, fuel and around 10 flight tickets for his travels.
The coach also wants access to the Lions’ immediate environment to be limited to staff members or officially authorised personnel.

The Senegal FA emergency committee met today to decide on the matter. After a lengthy and heated meeting, the Emergency Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation finally approved the choice of Patrick Vieira on a salary of between €35,000 and €45,000 over four years.

Patrick Vieira was born in Dakar, Senegal to a Senegalese father and a Cape Verdean mum. His family moved to Dreux, France, when he was eight. His French citizenship was conferred on him at birth as his grandfather served in the French Army. His surname Vieira, which is Portuguese, is the maiden name of his mother, who is from Cape Verde.

The highlight of his club career was In 1996 when he relocated to England to join Arsène Wenger at Arsenal for a fee of £3.5 million. During his nine-year stint in the Premier League, Vieira established himself as a dominating box-to-box midfielder, noted for his aggressive and highly competitive style of play.

The French-Senegalese, Patrick Vieira returned back home in 2003 to set up the Diambars academy in partnership with a friend called Saer Seck. This football academy situated in Saly on Senegal’s Petite Côte is one of the biggest football academies in Africa. This is where the likes of Idrissa Gueye of Everton and Saliou Ciss began their careers before joining clubs in Europe.

So Viera has always been part of the runs of successes of Senegalese football since 2002 when they debuted in the FIFA World Cup.
