In Africa, most of our leaders came into power from the time of resistance to repression. We have some of these leaders in different parts of Africa. These leaders betrayed the people’s trust in governance. We hailed them as liberators and freedom fighters, but in the end, they turned out to become the worst leaders on earth .
Today, we shall look at President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda. He was a rebel close to a decade fighting oppression and injustice for the people of Uganda. In 1986, with a group of 26 soldiers, he staged a coup and overthrew the government of Uganda.
President Museveni has promised a series of democratic reforms in Uganda that are not working.
From a multi-party society, Uganda has now drifted to a one party state with political opponents who have been arrested and thrown to jail.
For more than 40 years, President Museveni has been in power in Uganda, elections marred with violence and constitutional term limits abolished to allow him to remain in power.
President Museveni is now seen as a false prophet who has nothing to offer to the people of Uganda.
