Ugaga Youths Pay New Year Courtesy Visit to Cross River Commissioner for Education

Youths of Ugaga Kingdom, on Friday, January 3, 2026, paid a New Year courtesy visit to the Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, Esq., at his palatial residence in Okuku. The youth delegation was led by Hon. Joseph Odey Ohiero (Chairman), Hon. Declan Genesis Ogar (Vice Chairman), and Comrade Thompson Idagu Yeche Ugaga (Secretary). The visit was aimed at briefing the Commissioner on their recently concluded programme, intimating him of their upcoming projects, and seeking his support.

During the visit, the youths outlined the aims and objectives of the organisation, which include the organisation of symposia to collectively combat illicit drug abuse, cultism, and child molestation. They also emphasized their commitment to promoting security and education as critical pillars for the sustainable development of Ugaga Kingdom.

In his response, the Commissioner commended the youths for their lofty ideas and demonstrated sense of responsibility. He made a cash donation in support of their noble cause and assured them of his continued support to enable the group achieve greater success. Professor Odey reiterated his belief in building a better society and further applauded the leadership of the youth body for their humanitarian vision and commitment to community development.
