SEN. PROFESSOR STEPHEN ODEY PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY OF LATE HON. GABE SUNNY UGOR, FORMER CHAIRMAN, YALA LGADecember 16, 2025The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Hon. Gabe Sunny Ugor, former Executive Chairman of Yala Local Government Area, at their residence in Calabar. The Commissioner was accompanied by Chief Tony Okaka, Elder Ekpatuma Godwin Ogri, Hon. David Ipuole, Hon. Edwin Odey (Edi), Apostle Mike Aru, and others.While signing the condolence register, Professor Odey prayed that God grants the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss, describing the passing of brother and friend – late Hon. Ugor as a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to the Yache Nation, Yala Local Government Area, and Cross River State at large. He assured the family of his support to ensure that his brother and friend is accorded a befitting and successful burial.Members of the bereaved family present during the visit included Mrs. Rachael Ugor (wife of the late Hon. Chairman), Mr. Stanley Ugor (first son), Madam Agnes Ugor (elder sister), and Mr. Oko Etsebenu (nephew).
