Mrs Ejor Ekuri Abang, Director of Finance and Supply Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State, has been transferred with immediate effect.
One major crime for her transfer is that she grossly violated the generally accepted accounting principles(GAAP) of unauthorized deduction of workers’ salaries . It is alleged that in April 2025, the said Mrs Ejor Ekuri Abang deducted 9,000 Naira each from Yala Local Government workers.
The time period principle of payment of salaries was grossly abused as salaries were disbursed when she wanted even though other LGAs in the state were paid.
According to sources from Yala LGA, it was becoming evidently clear that she no longer had any respect for the tiers of government within the Council.
However, for transperency and continuity of governance, Mr Festus Odayi is now the Director of Finance and Supply, LGA.
